Understanding wagering requirements
Updated September 2026
Wagering (playthrough) is the amount you must stake before bonus funds — and often winnings tied to them — can be withdrawn. It is the main reason a “R10,000 bonus” does not mean R10,000 in your bank account.
A simple illustration
If you receive R1,000 in bonus funds with 30× wagering on the bonus amount, you may need to stake R30,000 in qualifying bets before withdrawal unlocks. Exact rules vary; always use the operator’s calculator or terms.
Game weighting
Slots often contribute more than table games. Some titles may be excluded. Betting the wrong product can mean progress barely moves.
Caps and gotchas
- Maximum bet while a bonus is active
- Time limits to finish wagering
- Maximum convertible winnings from free spins
- Country or payment-method eligibility
Healthier approach
Treat bonuses as optional entertainment value. If the wagering looks unrealistic for your budget, skip the offer and play with cash only — or do not play at all.
